Develop Your Niche

Developing your niche really is that hard especially if you don't have any help.

Take a minute and think about this...when you were a young kid...there were things that you loved to do whether it was play video games, sports like baseball and football or playing with trains or dolls...what ever it was you really enjoyed doing, you would do anything to be able to enjoy doing exactly what it was that you enjoyed, right?...even if that meant cleaning your room or taking out the garbage without being asked.

So why is it that hard when you want to blog to come up with a niche, why is it so hard picking out a topic and running with it...why because we start thinking is anyone else going to read it? Who cares if you are going to have 1 reader or 10,000 readers...that is why I recommend you pick something that really love to talk about...some of the so-called guru's say you can write about anything...is that really true, I have my opinion and they have theirs.

My opinion after I read Blogging for Dollars which I thought was one of the best books out there on the topic and his reader base thinks so too...especially after his release of his brand new book this month(3/3/08)...I mean this is the 8th of March and according to his numbers he has already sold over 2K books at $47 a pop =$94,000...not chump change at all. I even brought it and read it the first day it was out...it was a little more advanced for someone that is just starting out in the blogging world...except for the last chapter where he has these videos of how to create a blog from scratch, walking your through each step...He called it a 30 day plan and I believe it will work if you work it.

I believe that "Blogging for Dollars 2.0" is a much better option for someone who has never wrote a blog before on the Internet...of course the new book "Niche Annihilation Method" says that some of those things used in "Blogging for Dollars 2.0" don't work anymore...I am sure they still do, but maybe they are not as effective as they once were...but if you are only trying to develop a niche to blog about then it should be ok...and it will help you build traffic if that is what you are after. My reasons for say that is that he goes through more steps for finding something fun and interesting to talk about...plus talks about how to get listed in search engine without competing with millions other web sites and blogs...but instead finding topic in your subject that has less competition to start out...that I agree on.

If you just want to blog to get things off your chest then that is ok too...maybe something happened to you that you want to share with others and help them get through it like you did...then trust me they will come...the funny thing is that when you build it they will come...especially on the Internet...now you might not have 10's of thousands of people flocking to your blogs everyday at the beginning and that is ok...but if you have a couple of people that you have helped...you have done what you set out to do...and of course they will tell other people about your blog.

Just keep blogging...your readership will build fast or slow, more than likely slow...it just depends on your topic...the next blog will be about how to make money with your blogs...to me it doesn't make sense to not make money off a hobby...if you can why not?
